David Gellatly for Vancouver WA City Council, Position 3

David Gellatly has announced his candidacy for Vancouver City Council Position 3. David has been a resident of Clark County since 2002, is a successful business leader, and is an experienced leader in the community. In this nonpartisan position, there is a significant opportunity to work with all members of the community toward our common goals and for the council to best serve our residents.

Mr. Gellatly said his top three priorities will be:

  1. Finding real solutions to address the homelessness issues we see increasing in our community with compassion and accountability, and to ensure our neighborhoods remain clean and safe environments to raise families;
  2. Supporting and bringing businesses to Vancouver that provide family wage jobs for our residents; and
  3. As a representative form of government, ensuring we listen to the concerns of the citizens of Vancouver when considering any and all city initiatives.

“Vancouver is a beautiful city and I believe Clark County WA is one of the best places in the country to live, where we have the unlimited opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, the Columbia River, great dining, and diverse and amazing people,” said Mr. Gellatly. “The opportunities to continue to grow in the right way and create jobs here, are at our doorstep so our residents are not forced to drive out of state for work every day. Every time we cross the I-5 bridge, we can see what was a beautiful city to our south, has become a complete mess as a result of failed leadership. We cannot let these same results happen in our city, and it will take experienced leadership, working with others, and vision, to keep Vancouver a bright spot in the Northwest where people want to raise their families, do business, and enjoy the beautiful scenery our city has to offer.”
